The Université de Lyon hosts the 2nd Indo-French Knowledge Summit

As part of his duties as Vice-President for the Université de Lyon’s international strategy, Jacques Comby, President of Jean Moulin University, participated in the 2nd edition of the Indo-French Knowledge Summit . The summit took place on 17 and 18 October in Lyon, in the presence of Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, H.E. Mr Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Ambassador of India to France, and Khaled Bouabdallah, President of the Université de Lyon.

This second edition of the “Knowledge Summit” on academic and economic cooperation between France and India aimed to strengthen the Indo-French network of institutions that are driving academic and scientific cooperation.

It demonstrates the determination to deepen scientific cooperation between the two countries by linking French and Indian researchers and companies in eight fields: Smart cities: Electric Mobility and Transport; Smart Cities: Urban Planning & Architecture; Aerospace; Agriculture and Food Processing; Renewable Energy; Artificial Intelligence, Big Data & Mathematics; Valorisation of Natural Resources from Plants; Marine Sciences; Enhancement of Employability and Entrepreneurship.

In her opening speech, Minister Frédérique Vidal stressed France’s strategic position with respect to India (5th scientific partner) and expressed the aim of increasing the mobility of Indian students to France.

During the summit, Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University hosted several round tables at its les Quais site.

The Indo-French Knowledge Summit

The first Indo-French Knowledge Summit was held in March 2018 in New Delhi, on the occasion of the State Visit of the President of the French Republic to India. Inaugurated by Frédérique Vidal, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the summit saw the approval of the roadmap for Indo-French cooperation for the coming years, in partnership with the business community.
